How long does it take to become a barber in California?In California, the minimum requirement for a barber license is 1,000 hours. Our 1,000-hour barber course meets this requirement and fully prepares you for the California Barber Licensure Exam. This program typically takes 8 to 10 months to complete. However, barber license requirements vary by state. To provide more flexibility, we also offer a 1,500-hour barber course. This extended training makes it easier to transfer your license to states with higher hour requirements. The 1,500-hour program typically takes 11 to 14 months to complete.
